Trick or Treat!

Tonight was Haubstadt's trick or treating in town.  We always have a fun time going to that.  The kids love it and now that Olivia is in school she got to see a lot of her friends there!
Spiderman!

Cinderella

We added some makeup before we left, and she was so excited to change her earrings!! Thanks to her sweet friend Adi, she had the perfect pair of Cinderella earrings to match her dress!

Hanging out with some great friends! Adi and Abram

We also saw Paige and Taylor, our old neighbors, and good friends!!

Funny things kids say

Ben has been cracking me up with some of the things he has been saying lately.  So this a post about some of those silly things (so I can remember them).

On the way to preschool he says out of nowhere "UGH! I really hate it at preschool when we have to sit with pretzel legs. I'm just so tired of doing that!"

The other day (again out of nowhere) he says "I don't want to go to Heaven with God! He's TO big! I'm going to be scared of Him!"  (he has been asking daily if God is bigger than dinosaurs, or dragons or houses or trees, and my answer is always yes, God is bigger than everything!)

He always wakes up and says "is it wake up time?" This occurs when we are all still sleeping and it's dark outside, and also when everyone is up and the sun is shining brightly.  I guess it has just become his morning routine.

Tonight he laid down for bed and came out 5 minutes later and told Nate he had a bad dream... really? After being in there for 5 minutes?  Then he came out a few minutes after that and told Nate his eyes hurt when he tries to go to sleep. :)

This boy is really a funny kid.  He loves to tell stories and I find myself always saying "ok Ben! I got it!" But when I really stop and listen to what he has to say it is usually pretty entertaining :)  I can only imagine the thoughts that go through his head each day :)

Recent pictures of the house! Everything was insulated inside, siding is going up this week I believe! Can't wait to see the outside all finished!! I fall more in love with it every time we go out there. Praying this week is the week we get official word that we are getting POWER!! :)

An American girl weekend

This weekend has been planned for months! A family birthday party on Friday night and off to St. Louis for Olivia to spend alllll of her money on a doll! :) As much as I have always been against spending that kind of money on a doll, I was very excited as well.  Walking in and seeing the dolls I grew up seeing (and never getting) was so fun for me as well! I must say, since we knew what doll she wanted before we went, I was a tad bit disappointed in the store. It was pretty small (I've heard Chicago is the one to go to). But for what we were doing it was fine.  I had anticipated spending a lot of time there but we were only there about half an hour.  Once we looked around at all of the dolls, and saying goodbye to Molly (the doll I always wanted whose retiring at the end of the year) we purchased Saige and that was that! :) Olivia was so thrilled to get her!! It was worth the trip just to see her face light up when the lady handed Saige to her.

Can't do a post without a picture of this little cutie!! Hank (or as we call him Hank a roonie)

I love this picture, because I remember my Grandpa Bevis (my dad's dad) always blowing on our bellies as kids.  I hated it and loved it all at the same time.  :)

YAY! we finally have her!!

Eating at the Cheese cake factory with our new friend!

Ben loves Coleslaw.  It's such an odd food for my picky eater to love. He made such a mess with this but he loved every bite!

Great Grandma Bevis gave Ben some money before we left so he could get a toy.  He picked out this crazy Iron Man mask!

Olivia got a new "free" bed for booking an American girl Package at the Drury Inn.  Not a bad little bed!

Grandparents Day!

This morning was Grandparents Day at Olivia's School.  She was surprised this morning when I told her Grandma and Grandpa were able to come!! We picked our seats perfectly, she ended up standing right in front of us during her song.  I was so proud of her for actually singing! She is growing up so quickly, into such a sweet beautiful girl!

Olivia's 6th birthday!

Tonight we had Olivia's 6th birthday party with friends!  It started out with having it at a park, but after seeing the forecast for the weekend we decided to have it at Sandy's.  To say it was a bit chaotic is an understatement.  We were in the middle of the restaurant trying to open presents and play... but at least we were able to have it! I'm already planning next years party at our new house!! :) Special thanks to all of her friends for coming and spending this time with her! She was so excited to have them all get together tonight!
opening gifts!

All of Olivia's pals, a few special friends weren't able to make it, but I'm so happy she has this sweet group of friends!

6 candles doesn't even seem possible!

Singing happy birthday!

story time

Olivia loves coming home from school and grabbing some books to read to her toys.  I'll walk in on her having story time, she's the teacher and her dolls are the students.  Today I wasn't feeling well so I decided to stay home and rest while Nate and the kids went to lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Rich.  I noticed Olivia and Ben's door was shut and when i opened it I found this...
My guess is that the babies were having story time with DVD's being the books :) haha  They are sweet kids!  Can't wait for them to get into the new house so they can have more space to play!
