"BA"

Our sweet friend Adi says the funniest things. She has the silliest names for things (although now she's getting to where she says them correctly). One thing she use to always say when she was around Ben was "Ba".  That was her word for his paci.
The last couple of weeks when I go into Ben's room in the morning he jumps up and points to his Paci on the floor so I can get it to him quickly. He is a bit obsessed with that thing, and I dread the day we have to break him of it.  But just this week I've heard him on the monitor every morning saying "BA BA BA BA BA BA BA" and when I walk in sure enough he's pointing to his paci on the floor.  So I guess his word for Paci is now "Ba"!  Thanks Adi! :) haha

Silly Ben

So maybe baseball isn't in his future... BUT he does have a nice victory dance! Or maybe it's part of his warm up. Either way he looks cute! :)

70 degrees in Feburary!?

Today was beautiful!!!  We spent the morning at the zoo with our friends Alison and Adi.  The kids had a blast and Ben was really interested in the animals this time around. After the kids took their naps I couldn't wait to go outside and enjoy more of this day!  Ben had a blast! The last time we were able to play outside he didn't get around real well so he was enjoying himself today!

you can kind of see the expression on his face but he was saying "OOOOO!!" while he was running all around

Pointing to a train passing by, after living here 4 months this still brings lots of excitement!

testing out her new bike (Thanks Aunt Traci and Mati!) and her new helmet!

Ben's first sucker!

Ben helped himself to a sucker he found in the pantry a couple days ago.  So I thought what could it hurt other than making a huge mess.  Not to mention he already had a cracker in the other hand. He finished off each bite of cracker with some sucker, which caused cracker drool to poor from his mouth.  I laughed the entire time because he truly acted like he had struck gold!

Diapers and chalk

Olivia loves her baby dolls! And she has become quite a good diaper changer.  Of course she's using Ben's diapers so they are huge but she does a great job.  The other day after nap I caught her trying to do this with Ben. Apparently when he woke up he took off his diaper (and yes his bed and shirt were soaked).  I hear Olivia talking through his monitor and when I went into his room she was in his crib holding his legs up trying to put his diaper back on... It was very cute and she's a wonderful big sister!

Ben experienced chalk for the first time. I should have known he wouldn't try to put it in his mouth since his paci was in there.  I dread the day we have to get rid of that paci, and I know that time is coming quickly.

bible verses

Going along with being a better mom, I realized how quickly Olivia can learn songs and things like this so now we are starting bible verses.  We started friday night with this one and today when I asked her to say her bible verse she said it perfectly without help! Here is a video of her saying her first bible verse (yes they are taking a bath but I wasn't sure if I'd get her to cooperate later) "Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your path" Proverbs 3:6  (I must say this is good for mommy also, because I haven't been the best with memorizing scripture)

my vow to be a better mom!

Lately I have felt awful for not doing more projects with my kids. The sad thing is that I worked in daycares for several years before I had my own children and did these things with them all of the time. So I am taking a vow to be a better mom! Not that I'm a terrible mom and I never do things with my kids but I want to do more.  I found a site called http://www.icanteachmychild.com/  She has some fantastic things on there! One (amoung the many) things I found was a zip lock "My body" book to help teach your kids their body parts.  I thought this was perfect to do with Ben, but if I make Ben one I'll have to do one for Olivia also. So this morning we took the pictures. This was no easy task but I wanted to share a few of the funny photos...

Once I get all of the supplies I'll post the finished projects on here! Here is the link to this project if you are interested in making one!  http://www.icanteachmychild.com/2010/07/make-it-ziploc-my-body-book.html
