First Snow!

We've had our tree up for several weeks now, but I kept saying it just didn't seem like Christmas yet.  Perhaps it's because we put it up before Thanksgiving, or I thought maybe it was because this year has flown by so quickly and there was no possible way Christmas was already this close.  But today I realized what it was... It hadn't snowed yet!  And today it is snowing as I type this!  I always love the first snow.  The kids were thrilled and have been sitting by the window since it started. Olivia is a bit under the weather today and she said "I think I'm feeling better, can go out and build a snowman?" Don't think there will be enough for a snowman, and I know it's won't last long this time, but this morning we are surely enjoying it!

Prayers

Ben has been watching his big sister say her prayers at bedtime and dinner time.  Yesterday he started saying his own prayers.  Short and sweet... AMEN!

Snowman Art

Yes it's a bit early for snow, but I saw this craft idea on Pinterest and wanted to try it! The kids love to play with shaving cream so this was perfect! It's a mixture of shaving cream and glue.
Here is the link where I found the idea
This was my lovely snowman.  I made one to show the kids what he was suppose to look like.

Olivia had a little help making it look like a snowman but the rest was all hers!

Ben was enjoying himself, and isn't that all that really matters!

Olivia's final project

Ben's final project... looks like the snow man threw up but either way isn't that little boy a doll! :)

DIY Laundry Detergent

I found a recipe for homemade Laundry Detergent several months ago.  It is the same recipe the Duggar's (19 kids and counting) use for their family.  Here is the link Laundry Detergent (I can teach my child).
Alison and I went together to make a batch.  The total cost was around 10 dollars.  This made 10 gallons of detergent! The blog above says it equals out to 1 cent per load! I used it last night and I loved it! It smelled clean and seemed to work well.  Can't beat that!
All laundry detergent =10 bucks

10 bucks made this much! I'll take it!!

Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween!  This year was especially fun because we got to trick or treat twice!  On Friday night our town of Haubstadt closed off main street to let the kids come out and trick or treat at the local businesses! It was a lot of fun!  Olivia was a little shy and Ben wouldn't walk up to anyone but they looked adorable!

Olivia ready for some candy!

She wasn't sure about the witch, but the idea of candy got her up there!

Ben thought Adi was pretty funny.  She was walking around singing "I've got a bag of Candy!"

Love this picture of Ben!

The 3 amigos! (Abram was a cute little bear but it was a bit chilly for him to be out)
